AAF Memphis Presents its Annual Advertising Awards

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) Memphis presented its 48th annual American Advertising Awards for creative excellence tonight at the Peabody Hotel Skyway.

In attendance were more than 350 professionals from local advertising, marketing, graphic design, and media companies. The event honored 95 Gold ADDY winners, 61 Silver ADDY winners, and 14 recipients of “Best Of” awards. A total of 675 entries were judged by creative directors from Boston, Las Vegas, and New York. During their stay in Memphis, the judges were so impressed by the quality of work that they created four additional “Best Of” awards, which recognize the top work of the year.

“I’ve judged creative awards across the country. The quality of work in Memphis is superb,” said Mark Naparstek, creative director of R&R Partners in Las Vegas.

“This has been a transformational year for the Memphis chapter of the American Advertising Federation,” said AAF Memphis President Blaine Loyd. “The state of Memphis’ creative and design industry is strong. Through engaging luncheons, dynamic speakers, and memorable social events, this year of change has culminated with the American Advertising Awards show. We’re proud to have elevated this annual event in all aspects.” 

Consistent growth across all fronts of AAF Memphis — award entries, award winners, and agency memberships – reflect a year of renewed energy and enthusiasm for the local industry. During the last year, AAF Memphis has also relaunched its website, www.aafmemphis.org, to provide a consistent industry resource for educational, social, and career opportunities.

Following the Memphis chapter awards, local winners will compete in the AAF District 7 level of the American Advertising Awards, a three-tiered national competition. District winners will proceed to compete on the national level, which represents the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence.

The mission of AAF Memphis is to inspire, empower, and applaud the professional growth of marketing communications specialists. AAF District 7 is composed of 23 local advertising clubs located in Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.
