Last week we announced a Memphis-based design firm was headed to Las Vegas for the national-level American Advertising Awards; now we know 12 local firms are taking that trip.

The AAF District 7 Spring Convention was held in Knoxville April 10-11. Award recipients advanced to nationals, which are slated for June 13.

Other highlights from the event included Susan Ewing, vice president and director of client services for Sullivan Branding, receiving the Otis Dodge Memorial Award for her “significant volunteerism and dedication to the AAF District 7,” and University of Memphis junior Loghan Laufenberg earning the Jan Gardner Memorial scholarship award for “outstanding GPA and student advertising involvement.” Eleven University of Memphis seniors also participated in the National Student Advertising Competition.

The AAF District 7 comprises 21 affiliate advertising clubs of the American Advertising Federation in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
